Once more, with feeling!
So the first actual race we’ve been training for. The Brighton Half Marathon!
I can’t believe we’re here already tbh! I certainly didn’t feel ready but do we must! I think I did OK. Started around 7:00 / km tailing out to 9:00/km at the end. Had to walk a few times but that’s OK. Honestly, it’s OK to run / walk long distances, many do much further up the field than me!
The race was very much my first since the collarbone break. That added some anxiety, I’m not gonna lie. But we did it! Thanks to The Beautiful One and her mum coming to see me race too! Was great to have their support

I was hoping for a race time of under 3hrs. Although in my recovery hubris I had chosen the 2 hrs – 2:15 finish time pen, I knew this was unachievable! So I was delighted to come in with a time of 2:56:34!
Now a month to go before Brighton Marathon and then London Marathon a few weeks later. I had noticed some pain in my knees so will also do some strength training to resolve this.
Oh, and of course, we are still raising money for Refuge! Please donate to our 0n1ydan5 fundraiser, if you can, here!
